The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a wonderful trekking route in Nepal. The road connects to Jomson, but traveling on a motor won’t get the enticing views around. The connecting road is the basic level and scary too. So, it is far better to experience the Jomsom and Muktinath region closely through trekking.

The Jomsom Muktinath Trekking region comes across on Annapurna Conservation Area Project. Unlike other trekking regions, it seems different in terms of vegetation and geographical formation. The land formation of this region similar to Tibet plateau even culture influenced by Tibetan.

Nature and culture fascinate side by side, Jomsom Muktinath region. The tribal people, Thakali and Gurung, resides in this location, follow the Tibetan Buddhism religion. They have unique cultures and practices, which is a marvelous experience for outsiders. The quaint settlement, monasteries, farming, and their lifestyle will be additional feed for trekkers.

Nature enriches this location as it is known as part of the Trans Himalaya Range. The world’s deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki, come across here. The mountain range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri are remarkable sites of the trek.  

Muktinath is a pilgrimage site of Hindus. Buddhists also visit this temple to offer worship, however. Significant numbers of pilgrims from India and Nepal visit the temple as it considers a holy site of Lord Shiva. The Muktinath village is also known as the gateway to the Upper Mustang Region.

  • Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m) and trek to Tikhendhunga (1,552m): 35 minutes flight, 4-5 hours trek
  • Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunda to Ghorepani (2,750m): 6-7 hours
  • Day 05: Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1,190m): 5-6 hours
  • Day 06: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2,110m): 5-6 hours
  • Day 07: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2,680m): 4-5hours
  • Day 08: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2,810): 4-5 hours
  • Day 09: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3,710m): 5-6 hours
  • Day 10: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m): 5-6 hours
  • Day 11: Fly back to Pokhara: 15 minutes flight
  • Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
  • Day 13: Final departure
