For the learners and young mountaineers, the Island peak is the perfect training ground. Comparatively, it is easier to climb this mountain than any other in the region.

Island peak looks like an island between seas of ice when looked upon from Dingboche. Standing 6189m high, the peak still demands respect and caution while climbing. The snow and harsh mountain climate impose hardship while on the mountain. However, the gradual incline and much easier descent make it the easiest among the likes of Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Mera Peak and other peaks below 8000 meters.

Climbing an 8000m giant is not an easy feat. These mountains demand ages of practices, time, and physical and psychological attributes gained from several expeditions and also decently expensive. Island peak proves to be the best among the rookie mountaineers as well as the trekkers who are seeking to go beyond just visiting the basecamps. The environment in the mountains is always hostile and deadly. It is highly suggested to follow the guidance of the expert mountaineers and guides to ensure your safety.
