Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is highly demanded trekking points in the tourism market. It is nestled on the lap of Annapurna I and several other peaks including Annapurna South, Tent Peak, and Fishtail.  The Annapurna Base Camp locates at 4100 m altitude.

While trekking, the connecting trails to ABC and surrounding nature, culture, and locals’ livelihood give inner pleasant to trekkers. It is said that Pokhara is known as the pre-departure of point Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. Being the second-largest city of Nepal, Pokhara is surrounded by beautiful hill, lakes, and valley and shadowed by the Annapurna mountain range.

While trekkers gradually trek on even trail, the scenery surrounding location will be changed every half hour including, terrace farming of locals, beautiful valleys, traditional Nepali houses, reserved forests, villages, and mountains.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, we will come to pick you up with a holding a placard that wills state your Name or our official sign. Then you will be transferred to the require hotel in Kathmandu. In evening, Go Trek Nepal will organize a welcome dinner program at the Nepali culture restaurant. During, dinner clients will have an induction and introduction with Trek Lead and other crew members. You will take this opportunity to ask any questions regarding trekking and related issues that was missed to ask during corresponding before Nepal arrival.

Day 02: Kathmandu Heritage Sightseeing

After taking breakfast at our partner hotel, you will be escorted to explore heritage sites around Kathmandu that are considered as a gem of ancient Nepali culture and art, set up by then dynasties. Our experienced and well-educated tour officer will inform about each sites. Our day first tour program follows four heritage sites including Monkey Temple, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupti Nath and temple and the Baudhda Nath temple. We escort valued clients for sightseeing to left over sites around Kathmandu to the world heritage sites Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and, Bouddhanath stupa. The Kathmandu Durbar Square was a capital city of the early Lichchabi, Malla and Shah Dynasty. The major attractions of this place are Kumari Ghar (temple of living goddess), Kalbhairab temple, Kasthamandap, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju temple, and nine story building with amazing ancient Malla and Lichchabi art.

The Pashupatinath temple is one of the most famous and biggest temples which attract numbers of Hindu Pilgrims from around the globe. As the temple is located on the bank of Bagmati, there are numbers of crematory place at river bank.

Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple, located in western part of Kathmandu on the peak of a hill. Similarly, Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. Both Baudha Nath and Swayambhunath attracts Buddhist pilgrim from different parts of the world.

After completing city sightseeing, we will help you to go shopping if clients need anything to buy for trekking then we will make an introduction with trekking crews who are escorting trekkers until the trek finish. Moreover, on introductions we are more than glad to discuss about the trek, safety majors and other genuine issues.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.)

After completing two days induction and sightseeing in Kathmandu, trekkers will be heading to Pokhara on an enjoyable bus ride or in a car as per clients requirement. The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 200 kilometer, however, takes 6 hours which could be an hour drive in westerns countries. Due to hilly roads and winding, the speed of vehicles is too moderate.

During hours long drive to Pokhara,  would be another fun and pleasant journey and getting know about traffic and road in the developing country, heads to western part of the region from Kathmandu. Travelers have opportunities of glimpse of Nepalese house, livelihood, farms and more unique views  in country side. The connecting road between Pokhara and Kathmandu is the busiest highway, and most of the supplies loaded trucks and Lorries run over this road. The road goes through alongside Trishusli and Mashyandi River bank. After fishing narrow and curvy road, the beautiful Pokhara city and the location around are appeared. The bus drops travelers at the tourist bus park then our Trek leader will place you at the required hotel in Lakeside which is known as a touristy hub in Pokhara on right bank of the beautiful Phewa Lake. During Pokhara stay, travelers have ample time to explore lake side, hang out, boating and renting bicycle to explore cities.

In the evening, travelers have free time to enjoy night life or go to restaurants, however, better to go early bed as you have to drive 1 hour tomorrow morning to the trekking point Nayapul.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) then Trek to Tirkhedhunga

Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) by car, which takes approximately one and half hours drive. Now you begin your trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tirkhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.) which takes about four and half hours.

After having breakfast at hotel, trek leader escort you drive for 1 and a half hour to Nayapul then start trekking. The first day of your trek will be easy passing through several villages and farm, forest and some rivers including Modi. On the way to today’s overnight camp, trek leader will arrange lunch on the half way. It is a good opportunities to observe the local people’s livelihood, their farm, and profession. Most of the people around this location they are involved in farming and some of them depend on opening tea houses and animal husbandry. On arrival at the lodge tour leader allot you lodge. You will have time to sip cup of coffee or tea.

Day 05: Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675 m.)

Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani is quite challenging as the trail heads to uphill, takes about 6 hours. After climbing uphill trail for 3 hours, the trail leads you by passing Ulleri village. During this trek, you will have scenic views of Fish Tail, Hiuchuli, and Annapurna Mountains’. Moreover, beautiful valleys and gorges of Modi River basin can be views can be seen in southern part. Now, the trail; shadowy, moisture rhododendron and mix forest, leads you to Banthati where most likely you will have lunch. After lunch, you will ascend two more hour walk to get the today’s overnight camp the Ghorepani (2675 M)

Day 06: Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3180m.) to Tadapani (2675m.)

Early morning, our tour leader escorts you to the most famous view point, Poon Hill (3180m.) in order to view numbers of mountains’ peaks from a single point as well as the enjoying sunrise view over Annapurna IV (7525m.), Mt. Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and beautiful landscape. After having breakfast, the team will head to Tadhapani (2650 m.) trail leads to Gurung Hill which is another view point on the way to Tadhapani. Along the side trail is covered with various kinds of Rhododendron, oak, berries and bamboos bushes.

On the trail, frequently we will see moisture and shadowy forest, rocks, waterfalls and other trekkers from different parts of the world who are having enjoyable time like us. After three hours gradual trek, you will arrive at Banthati where you will have lunch then head to Tadhapani. After on even couple of hours trek you will arrive at today’s overnight camp, Tadhapani, in the saddle of the mountain. Trek leader will arrange a cozy accommodation in a local lodge. There are many things to see from Tadhapani, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, and Annapurna II and so on.

Day 07: Trek Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.)

Trek from Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.) takes about three hours south and pretty easy trek by descending gently all the way down through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. Depending on season, during spring the forest around this location, fully covered blooming rhododendron, and listening to chirping mountains birds. Finally, the trekker team will arrive at Ghandruk villages, which is the biggest Gurung settlement. In Ghandruk village, there are lots of thing to do like exploring Gurung Museum, hiring Gurung custom for photography for the future memory etc. Furthermore, you will have opportunity to explore village to know closely about their lively hood, houses, practices and culture too. And also you will have time to communicate with friends and family back home via internet which is available here. From this village you could see spectacular views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

Day 08: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2040 m.)

Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2040 m.) is expected approximately four hours. At the beginning of the day, we ascend gently for an hour up to Ghandrukkot (2100m.) and follow steep down trail towards Kimrong Khola. Immediate after reaching at river, the trail ascend steeply up through terraces farmland of locals. After couple of hours efforts in uphill trail walk, we will arrive at pre-scheduled stopping point for overnight, Chhomorong, the Gateway of  Annapurna Base Camp. Our tour leader showed required documents and get entry of each trekkers for few minutes, then we move ahead to stay at a lodge. After checking in at a lodge, we will have time to stroll to explore beautiful location around the village for short while. As the village is inhabited by Gurung, an indigenous group, sometimes they offer cultural dance show to entertain valued guests. We might take some minutes show program.

Day 09: Trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo (2340m.)

After taking delicious breakfast, we will descend down through well-paved stone staircase to Chhomorong Kola, a river, then slightly follow uphill trail to lower Sinuwa, which is the last village, settled permanently on the trail.  After ascending an hour uphill trail, we will arrive at upper Sinuwa, the lunch point.  The trail, sinuwa to Bamboo is pretty rocky, slippery, steeply descend towards Modi River bank. The trail follows with shadowy forest, includes Oak, Rhododendron and may other kinds of trees that found in lush forest. Once we arrive at Bamboo, we will check in a lodge. Precisely, Bamboo is located under a high steep cliff, whereas in other side just a thick forest, there is not much to see any interesting, so we will get assemble in the dinning hall  get warm with kerosene, heater and have interesting talk with other trekkers.

Day 10: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3230m.)

As usual, after breakfast, we move ahead through uphill trail towards Deurali. Most likely, the trail goes more uphill and short flat through bamboo and weid bushes and  with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. In couple of hours, we will arrive at a small mountainous village, Dovan, with few lodges and campsites. Now, we pass through a bit muddy trail which traverses high above the river. After a short trek, we will arrive at Himalayan Hotel (2900m.), the settlement is named after the Himalayan Hotel. Beyond it, the trail is steeply ascended up to Hinko Cave (3160m). It takes approximately twenty minutes through normally ascent path to reach Deurali (3230m.). Now, the elevation is getting higher and we might fee low airpressure. If you feel uneasy in breathing and get headache, please speak to our trek leader regarding these issues.

Day 11: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4170 m.) via Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3820m.)

Today, we starts trek quite late, unlike previous days, as the altitude getting higher and air pressure getting low, we better to go gently to uphill trail. From Deurali, the Gorge, that we were following from chhomorong, will get widen and offer gorgeous views. The trail leads us with pretty rocky long up hill and short flat hill path and, we see some pasture land, meadows and shepherd seasonal shelter. Before reaching at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we continuously follow trail alongside the river bank. Depending in season, during winter  and spring, it almost all the land covered by pretty thick snow, whereas during summer and fall, it transforms in to a wide green and flower bloomed land. Ultimately, the trail drops us at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, where we enjoy delicious lunch with exhilarating surrounding views of Gangapurna (7454m.), Mount Hiunchuli (6441m.), Annapurna South (7229m.), and Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna III (7555m.), and Fish Tail (6997m.). The trail leads us two more hours towards Annapurna Base Camp, our final destination. Upon arrival at Annapurna Base Camp, we will check in to a lodge and stroll around to explore magnificent mountain views. Annapurna Base Camp is not located on the Hill Top view point; however, we will have time to see exhilarating cone shaping mountains, towering closely to us at 360 Degree angles.

Day 12: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan (2630m.)

After having enjoyable time at Annapurna Base Camp, we will start descending to Dovan (2630m.), which takes about five hours. It is pretty easier to descend in comparing to ascending, however, we are suggested to trek down gently otherwise legs and knees may get pins and needles. It is possible to take down more up to Bamboo and Sinuwa, however, suggested to stay at Dovan to get relief from  days long  exhaustion.

Day 13: Trek from Dovan to Jhinudanda (1750m.)

The trek from Dovan to Jhinudanda (1750m.) get us with down and uphill trail, the village and settlement we will be crossing from Bamboo to Chomrong that you already crossed while we were heading to Annapurna Base Camp. From Chhorong, the steep trail descents to Jhinhu Danda. Having for minutes break and check in at a lodge,  trek leader escorts us to go hot spring on the bank for of Modi River for half any hour east down trail. The host spring has two ponds and changing huts. It would be a relaxing moment submerging in hot tub after days long not having hot shower.

Day 14: Trek from Jhinudanda to Pothana (1600m.)

The second last day of trekking, from Jhinudanda to Pothana (1600m.), will take about five hours. From Jhinnu Danda, the trail ascends until New Bridge then expected flat until himal pani. The scene on the trail is beautiful along with waterfalls, forest and villages. By crossing Modi River, the trail heads up towards Landruk village (1640m.). The trek gently ascends to nearby village to Tolka (1850m.) and after half any hour trek the path goes steep up to Deurali (2100m.). The top hill, Deurali, offers an exhilarating view of mountains, farming land, forests, valleys and beautiful village at 360 degree angle. After crossing Deurali, the trail gradually descends towards Pothana. Pothana is a small village, a view point for a day hikers, is inhabited by Gurung; a tribal group.

Day 15: Trek from Pothana to Dhampus Phedi and Drive to Pokhara

The last day of trek, not least, takes about four hours, heads to Dhampus in order to catch a car at Phedi. The trail slightly descends via Dhampus to Phedi. Now, you trek through flat land for some distance and steeply descend to Dhampus Phedi. From Phedi, a car will pick you up then drops you in minutes at the vibrant city Pokhara.

Day 16: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by company vehicle that takes about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal’s first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city. In the evening you can take a short walk around Thamel if you need to purchase some souvenirs to take back to your country. We will provide you a fully sponsored farewell dinner for your great achievement in successfully completing the Trek at a restaurant of your choice or our home. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 17: Departure

Start the day with a nice breakfast and we will make sure you will get in the right time at the Tribhuwan international airport for your departure. Bid farewell to Nepal & take your flight aboard to your native land.
