The day tour starts with a wonderful breakfast at the hotel. We will take a private car ride to Swayambhu Stupa, some four kilometers away from the center of the city. The hill of Swayambhunath is one of the holiest sites in Nepal and for all the Buddhist followers around the world, believed to have self-existed at the ancient time that dates back more than 2000 years ago. The very existence of the city is believed to be inter-linked with this hillock which showcases the best example of cultural and religious harmony in the country. The temples, stupas and the bihars are open for all the people from any cultural or religious background.
Next stop, we head for Hanumandhoka Durbar Square or recently known as Kathmandu Durbar Square at the center of the City for the historical and cultural exchange. We will visit the house of Kumari, the Living Goddess, and other temples and the squares that date back to the 5th century.
Shortly after that, we take a drive towards the eastern part of the City for Pashupatinath, a golden roofed pagoda temple of Lord Shiva. And then drive some 10 more minutes to the north to see the biggest stupa in Asia, the Boudha Stupa.
The one day Kathmandu City tour concludes with a walk around the core city area near Thamel, a tourist hub. You can enjoy a walk around old alleys capturing several monuments that have significant value for the locals here.
