The trekking to this tranquil and pristine region begins from Tumlingtar. You will take a short flight from Kathmandu. You will trek through beautiful villages of Num, Tasigaun, Seduwa, Mumbook, Sherson, Yangri kharka before reaching the basecamp. You will get time for acclimatization and much-needed rest adequately during the trek. The density of people gets thinner with the progression of the ascent.
Upon your arrival our staff member will collect you form the Tribhuban International Airport and transfer you to a hotel. The day is spent enjoying a briefing at Go Trekking Nepal about the trek and taking some time to prepare. In the free time, like 6 Pm, you will have to time to explore the bustling touristy town Thamel.

We will take a scenic flight to Tumlingtar, followed by a drive to Chichila. The journey offers your first glimpse of the beautiful landscapes that await. The overnight stay in Chichila helps you rest and acclimate before starting the trek.
Your trek begins with a hike through lush forests and small villages. The diverse flora and fauna of the region are on full display. The trail to Num is a mix of ascents and descents, setting the pace for the days ahead.

The trail descends to the Arun River and then climbs up to Seduwa steeply. You enjoy beautiful terraced fields and the first views of high Himalayan peaks. Seduwa, a charming village, provides a welcoming place to rest and prepare for the climb ahead.

The trail takes you through lush forests and across small streams. Tashigaon is the last village before heading into the more remote parts of the trek. It is an ideal place to acclimatize and enjoy local hospitality.
Overnight at Tashigaon
This is a challenging day as you ascend steep trails through dense forests. You will cross several ridges before reaching Khongma Danda. The panoramic views from here are breathtaking, making the effort worthwhile.
Overnight at Khogma Danda
A rest day is spent acclimating to the altitude. You want to explore the surrounding areas or relax and enjoy the mountain views. This day is crucial for preventing altitude sickness and ensuring a safe trek ahead.
Overnight at Khogma Danda
The trail includes crossing the Shipton La and Keke La passes. These high passes offer stunning views of Makalu and other peaks. You descend to Dobate, where you spend the night amidst a serene environment.
The trek continues through rhododendron forests and along the Barun River. You will enjoy the sight of cascading waterfalls and diverse wildlife. Yangri Kharka is a peaceful spot to camp and recharge.
The trail gradually climbs through alpine meadows and pastures. As you get closer to the majestic peaks, the trek’s excitement builds. Langmale Kharka provides a dramatic setting for an overnight stay.
The ultimate destination of your trek as you head towards Makalu Base Camp. The views of Makalu, Everest, and Lhotse are awe-inspiring. The base camp offers a sense of achievement and a chance to absorb the grandeur of the Himalayas.
Trekkers will spend the day exploring the base camp area. Short hikes offer different perspectives of the surrounding peaks. This is a day to rest, take photos, and immerse yourself in the high-altitude environment.
You begin the descent, retracing your steps to Yangri Kharka. The return journey offers new views and experiences. An overnight stay at Yangri Kharka allows you to reflect on the trek’s achievements
You will continue descending through familiar trails, enjoying the changing landscapes as you trek back to Dobate. The comfortable pace allows you to appreciate the natural beauty around you.
You climb back to Khongma Danda, crossing the high passes once again. The views from this perspective are different and just as stunning. An overnight stay at Khongma Danda gives you a chance to rest before the final descent.
You descend through lush forests back to Tashigaon. The familiar trail now feels different and offers new insights. An overnight stay in Tashigaon lets you enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings.
A shorter day as you descend further to Seduwa. The trek takes you through terraced fields and small villages, offering a glimpse into local life. An overnight stay in Seduwa reconnects you with the local culture
You continue descending to Num, retracing the earlier part of your journey. The lush landscapes provide a beautiful backdrop. An overnight stay in Num gives you a chance to rest before the final trek.
The trek back to Chichila is a blend of ascents and descents. You pass through familiar trails and enjoy the lush scenery. An overnight stay in Chichila prepares you for the journey back.
You drive back to Tumlingtar and take a flight to Kathmandu. The return journey offers a chance to reflect on the trek. You transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu, ready to relax and share your experiences.
Your last day in Kathmandu is spent preparing for your departure. You transfer to the airport for your flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Makalu Base Camp Trek.
